I have discussed this work with the author on two occasions after being introduced.

General comments:

This is an interesting data source that I had recently become aware of for postdoc salaries, and I was very excited about the analysis. It’s the basis for lots of great future analyses, and I’m working to gather more data to do a larger analysis, following from the 2016 salary data analysis I was involved with. I have a lot of very tiny details I could have focused on in the review, and I focused on them briefly, but overall they are extremely nuanced and the larger analysis is valid and informative, and this work is a great contribution to the literature. It is a pretty quick read, very well laid out and the economic components that I was less familiar with were well-explained and used - as far as I’m aware!
